Child Development/4-Year-Old Kindergarten Programs
CCSD offers full-day and half-day Child Development/pre-kindergarten for
children who are four years of age by September 1.
Full-day Child Development programs are funded under EIA and GOF
funds. They allow the district to provide full-day instruction for eligible
students. CCSD's preschool programs are designed to develop skills necessary for
success in the regular public school curriculum with a focus on emergent
literacy, early numeracy, science and social studies. Through full day and half
day inclusive preschool programming, the needs of bilingual, English for
Speakers of Other Languages, and preschool children with special education needs
Applying for the 2013-2014 Academic Year
CCSD is currently accepting applications for its Child Development
(4-Year-Old Kindergarten) programs for the 2013-2014 academic year. (Download

Pre-registration began on March 4 and ends on May 10, 2013.
Parents are encouraged to pre-register early at the district elementary school where
their children are zoned to attend.
Pre-registration does not guarantee enrollment in a Child Development
program. Selection priority is given to children who demonstrate academic and
developmental needs and risk factors. Children will be selected for individual
screening appointments based on information provided by the parent on the
Pre-Registration Form. Screening appointment cards will be mailed by the
schools, Screenings will be scheduled at school sites. Notification of Child
Development program acceptance will be mailed to parents.
Parents must present the following documents by May 10 in order to

- Copy of a legal birth certificate, proof of residency, certificate of
immunization, and social security card (if applicable.)
